Children Operating Motorboats

1.  Persons under the age of 12 years old operating motorboats:

Must be under the direct supervision of a person 16 years of age or older; and,

The boat must have no more than 35 HP.

2.  A person who is 12 but less than 14 may operate a personal watercraft if he or she obtained a boating safety certificate before January 1, 1999.

3.  Any person may operate a motorboat that is powered by no more than 6 HP.

Children and PFD's

Each child under the age of 6 year, and in an open deck area is REQUIRED to wear a PFD AT ALL TIMES.
